to Give to Haiti
(Boston) Today Massachusetts State Representative Peter J. Koutoujian called on Armenian Americans from across the United States to contribute to the humanitarian efforts in Haiti.
"The values of Armenian Americans are centered around family, heritage, and hard work," Koutoujian said. "Those virtues are what inspired me to reach out and ask for help during the incredibly difficult time for the people of Haiti."
In his letter to friends and supporters, Koutoujian referred to the earthquake that took place in Armenia in 1988 and the outpouring of aid and other resources made possible by contributions from around the world.
"People gave what they could to help Armenians then," Koutoujian said. "This is an opportunity to give back to those who have lost everything." |
