Rep. Koutoujian Receives “Rx for Excellence” Award from
Recognition honors leadership and best practices in medicine
Boston – State Representative Peter Koutoujian, House Chairman of the Joint Committee on Financial Services, will be honored as a Leader in Quality by the Massachusetts Medical Law Report. Koutoujian is among a handful of physicians, risk managers, attorneys and other professionals who will be recognized for best practices in safety, quality and risk management in healthcare.
“I am humbled to be honored among such remarkable leaders from the Massachusetts medical community,” said Rep. Koutoujian. “I am proud of the work we have done in the Commonwealth to both improve the quality of care for patients, as well as increase access to healthcare.”
Prior to becoming chairman of Financial Services, Rep. Koutoujian was House Chair of the Joint Committee on Public Health where he was successful in addressing important healthcare legislation including bills related to racial and ethnic health disparities, suicide prevention, better nutritional choices for children, and healthcare cost containment.
The winners were selected by a group of leaders in the Massachusetts healthcare community, along with the editorial staff of Massachusetts Medical Law Report. The 2nd annual “Rx for Excellence” awards ceremony will take place at the Westin Copley Place on Thursday, October 29th from 7:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.
